Utah native Jimmie F. Jones died in 2009 at the age of 76. At the time of his death he was regarded as the premier landscape painter in Utah and one of the most renowned in the Southwest. He was especially noted as a painter of Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks. Between 1961 and 1974 he spent twelve winters in San Blas as a portrait and figure painter, painting the people and scenes of a place he truly loved, San Blas. If you know any of these people and/or knew Jones, please contact Prof. Jim Aton at aton@suu.edu He is writing a book about Jones.
