![]() La Bajada, Nayarit, Mexico Up the hill about 5 miles from La Palma, you will find La Bajada. You will pass 2 balnearios along the way. La Bajada is worth a visit. It is a pretty little town nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. There is virtually no traffic and you can see the Pacific from most parts of town. If you keep going up you will reach the old Camino Real - a small road that will take you through banana, coffee and mango plantations. This is a good birdwatching area. I have heard this road goes all the way to Tepic but I have never tried it. If you prefer, you can walk downhill towards La Palma and on to the main road to San Blas. Several buses run daily from San Blas to La Bajada. | |
